ISLAMABAD (APP) - The water supply system of federal capital would be up-graded and replaced by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) as the current water system of the Capital is in poor condition resulting in wastage of water. The spokesperson of CDA told the agency on Sunday that the old HDPE polyethylene pipes would be replaced to ensure smooth supply of water to the residents of the federal capital. He said that the civic body would launch a special campaign for awareness among the people to avoid the misuse of water and convince them for water conservation. He said that it was observed that some people were involved in misusing of water. According to the sources of CDA, the mega water supply project would cost Rs 11 billion and it would ensure uninterrupted water supply to the residents. He said that in this project water meter would be introduced to houses and on the patron of gas and electricity meters. He said that CDA was in contact with a foreign firm for the completion of project according to international standards. He said that 30 water filtration plants were operating in the federal capital and further plants would be established. He said that local company was taking care of water filtration plants set up in the various sectors.
