US Senator John Kerry held talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to discuss the war against terrorism and the Kerry-Lugar aid bill. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen and other Pakistani officials were also present during the meeting. Pakistan prime minister informed the US Senator about the reservations over the 7.5 billion dollar US aid package. Kerry clarified that the bill doesnt pose any threat sovereignty of Pakistan. Senator Kerry arrived in Pakistan after US President Barack Obama signed a record 7.5 billion dollar package tripling non-military aid to boost its campaign against a virulent Islamist insurgency. The senator, who was a key author of the five-year package aiming to build schools, roads and democratic institutions, was also to meet with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif today.
