As the wedding season has started, many girls probably thinking about the outfits they should wear in which they look trendy and classy and what trends are in for this season. The recently concluded L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2014 was an exhibition of style, elegance and royalty. During the week, Pakistani’s most celebrated designers came together to showcase the best Bridal wear trends that are sure to catch up with the would-to-be brides in 2013-2014. Sunday Plus talked to those designers and asked what trends to follow in bridal wear so that we could give you a glimpse of latest trends and style of this fall. Have a look what designers say:
Ali Xeeshan:
Go old school for this season.
Ammara Khan:
Structured jackets, tapered long trousers, floor-sweeping gowns, voluminous skirts, A-line flowing tunics and classic saris.
Asifa & Nabeel:
Detailed yoke line , Aay-look knee shirts, Floor length dresses, Cegg pants and Choori dars
Fahad Hussayn:
The major trend to look out for is more edgy cuts as opposed to the voluminous cuts. We are still seeing some flair but straight cuts are going to be in for a while now.
Maheen Kardar Ali – Karma Red:
There are many bridal trends coming into play this season but we at Karma Red feel the most significant one is a return to old world detail, finesse, reference and semblance. That is the most apparent trend in The Lotus Raj.
Misha Lakhani:
The bundi, a kurti silhouette with cutout sides, caftan, koti and gharara – all of which are nostalgic, versatile and can be integrated into your wardrobe.
Nickie Nina:
Short shirts with long sheer gowns,
Hints of bright colors in the garment or accessories
And gold is definitely the new bling!
Sana Safinaz:
Sana Safinaz are promoting an esthetic mix of east and west. We are trying to introduce the shorter shirts with exquisitely embroidered shawls. We are hoping this shawl trend catches on.
Shamaeel Ansari:
Bridal doesn’t mean just the ‘wedding day’s wear’ with elaborate ghararas and dupattas. There are mehendis, mayuns and trousseau amongst others to take care of too. The trends will be pointing towards mother of pearl tones for nikkah wears, bright vintage looks to make the mood regal in main events & saffron incorporations in embroidery and threadworks.
Akif Mahmood:
Layering, lots of sheer fabrics e.g Organza, cholis!
Seher Tareen:
The trends to look out for this bridal season are more structure in design, cropped blouses with lehngas and shararas and the concept of layering within a bridal ensemble.
Sofia Badar:
I think a nicely tailored wedding dress is making a comeback. I would love to see more structured skirts and meticulously tailored blouses with embellishments that give more texture and character to the outfit rather than just the shimmer and shine.
