In pursuit of peace

At last the rift between the Afghanistan’s political rivals Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani has been weeded out to form a united government. This development has been welcomed in the region as a beginning of a new era of peace and progress in war-torn Afghanistan. Obviously, it was pursuit of larger national interests, rather than vested ones, which brought both rivals close enough to work together. Pakistani leadership should learn from this historic development and leave their differences aside to rescue the capsizing ship of Pakistan and retern it to the path of prosperity.
