LAHORE- Ex-law minister Punjab and leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah has declared chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri as "Banarasi Thugs".
Talking to journalists today, Rana Sanaullah said that the heads of two parties engaged in sit-ins in the federal capital were deceiving the innocent masses in the name of change in system and resolving problems faced by the countrymen. He clarified that issues and problems couldn't be settled through protests and long marches and it needed efforts and sacrifices instead.
Sanaullah was of the view that the PML-N government would complete its five-year constitutional tenure in the larger interest of country and it was letting no stone unturned to resolve the problems faced by the country and its people. He rejected the allegations that the Punjab government was reluctant to hold
local bodies elections and said that it was ready to hold election but delimitations and decision to conduct local government polls will be taken by the Election Commission and not the provincial government.
The PML-N leader claimed that the PTI and PAT protest aimed at derailing the democracy and toppling the elected government failed completely due to lack of interest of masses. Sanaullah said that politics of the PML-Q ended after Pervez Musharraf was expelled and Chaudhry brothers were seeking support of different political forces to keep them alive in politics of the country.
