QUETTA: At least 43 militants surrendered to authorities in Dera Bugti on Tuesday. They handed over their weapons to security forces and resolved to remain loyal to Pakistan.

A spokesman for Frontier Corps Balochistan said here 43 militants who belonged to banned militant organisation, Baloch Republic Army (BRA), had surrendered at a ceremony in Dera Bugti. “The militants who surrendered have vowed to remain loyal to Pakistan,” he said.

“The militants surrendered to security forces after head of self-exiled Baloch leader Barhamdagh Bugti applied for asylum in India,” the FC spokesman said. “Now, we have nothing to do with Barhamdagh Bugti,” they said.

He further said FC personnel took stern action against those who snatched livestock from local people, damaged government properties and carried out subversive acts. “There is no room for those who would be found involved in acts of terrorism,” he said.–APP
