MIRPUR (AJK)-Unveiling various welfare projects with objective to ameliorate life of the common man in Azad Jammu Kashmir, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said that the public welfare is one of top priorities of his government.

Addressing the AJK cabinet meeting held late the other day, the premier declared that the popularly-elected PML-N government in AJK would ensure requisite investment in Tourism, Agriculture and Livestock sectors - since the AJK is enriched with huge natural potential in these sectors.

The meeting was chaired by PM Raja Farooq Haider who declared that his government will facilitate investors to attract maximum investors for availing this opportunity and creation of job opportunities. He said that the government would introduce reforms in education system to promote the culture of merit.

The AJK Cabinet condemned the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and called on the international community to notice the Indian State terrorism in occupied Kashmir.

The cabinet meeting unanimously passed various resolutions, condemning the human rights abuses by Indian forces in held Kashmir.

Through other unanimously passed resolutions, the AJK cabinet welcomed the visit of President Mamnoon Hussain to the state to express solidarity with ongoing freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir against the illegal occupation of Indian forces. The President of Pakistan addressed joint sitting of AJK Council and Assembly at a time when the freedom movement of Kashmiris people is in full swing. His address to joint Session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council and Legislative Assembly was reflection of the aspirations of the nation. The people and government of AJK are thankful to him for his valuable moral contributions to the just Cause of Kashmiris.

The cabinet strongly condemned the arbitrary arrests of youth, asking the international community to play its role in saving humanity from the systematic genocide unleashed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

After Burhan’s martyrdom on July 8, 2016, the whole valley poured into streets forcing, not only state but the whole sub-continent into the heated debate, attracting the world attention to the heinous crimes committed by India.

The meeting appreciated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for presenting the Kashmir cause before the world community, especially during the UN GA session in New York and his recent visit to Azerbaijan.

Earlier the AJK Cabinet approved launching a one year development scheme of Rs150 million under ‘the Prime Minister community infrastructure development project.’

The cabinet also approved another mega development project ‘Tourism Corridor ‘ .This project includes construction of 105 kilometres road From Chakkar to Benjoss via Non Bagla Gally, Sudhen Gali, Naza Pir, Lasdana and Toli Pir.

The Cabinet approved taking over the powers of collecting excise and sales taxes from AJK Council to generate financial resources.
