Canada interested in trade

LAHORE -  Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Perry Calderwood called on CM Shehbaz Sharif and exchanged views on the matters of mutual interest.

Talking to the Canadian diplomat, Shebaz said that there are deep-rooted friendly relations between Pakistan and Canada and a large number of Pakistanis are living in different cities of that country.

During the meeting, he also stressed the need for solid measures for promotion of trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Canada and implementation of projects in education, health and electricity especially hydro energy.

The Canadian envoy said that Punjab is very important province and a partner of Canada. “Punjab and Canada should promote trade and economic relations for moving forward.

“Canada wants to promote cooperation with Punjab government in different sectors,” he added.

Honorary Consul of Canada in Lahore Syed Yawar Ali, Punjab Investment Board chairman, Punjab Investment Board CEO, Schools Education secretary and other officials concerned were present in the meeting.
