LAHORE - Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while congratulating Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his unopposed election as PML-N President, has said their party firmly believes in democracy.

Talking to party leaders at Convention Centre Islmabad, the chief minister also felicitated newly elected PML-N chairman Raja Zafar ul Haq, senior vice presidents, Information and Finance secretaries, and expressed good wishes for them.

“[The] PML-N intra-party election speaks for its regard for highest democratic traditions,” Shehbaz said.

Expressing satisfaction with the participation of council members from all over the country, the CM said that they have written a new political history by electing office bearers of the party showing enthusiasm and discipline.

He was hopeful that the newly-elected office bearers of PML-N would serve the masses with greater vigor and zeal as well as play their due role in strengthening of the party at gross root level and progress and prosperity of the country.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PML-N has emerged as the most popular party of the country,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
