KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has stressed the need for ridding education sector of class based system.

Addressing a talent expo, organised by Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) here on Tuesday, he said that future belonged to youngsters. “Keeping this in view restoration of students’ unions is mandatory to promote democratic norms in the society,” he added.

He urged that those in the corridors of power should free education from the clutches of economic classes so that future of Pakistan could be secured.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said that the syllabus should be reviewed on a national level.

He added that the outdated curriculum did not fulfill the national needs.

“Pakistani students are second to none in terms of abilities and talent,” he opined. He was of the view that Urdu should be the only medium for education.

He congratulated IJT's local chapter on holding the expo for the fourth consecutive year.

Baloch said that students held a significant position in the society.

He further said that rapid increase in the number of female students at professional educational institutes was a matter of great joy and satisfaction as, according to him, it would be helpful in bringing a peaceful Islamic revolution in the country.

Dawood University of Engineering and Technology Vice Chancellor Dr. Faizullah Abbasi hailed the efforts of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba and praised the culture of the organization where students from all ethnic backgrounds are engaged for a joint cause in an exemplary harmony.

asir Hussain Shah, provincial Transport minister, in his address stressed the need of joint efforts for bringing a betterment in the education sector. He also assured the students for his all out support in regard to the betterment of education sector.

 JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has urged the government to eliminate corruption from education department. He highlighted several anomalies and said that the issues, pertaining to education should be resolved on war footing basis.

IJT Karachi head Hashim Yousaf  also spoke on the occasion along with  JI leaders, including Muhammad Hussain Mehnati and others were also present on the occasion.
