ISLAMABAD-After denying Pakistan kabaddi team from participation in Kabaddi World Cup, Indian authorities have also refused to grant visas to Pakistan junior athletics team and officials, who were set to compete in the South Asian Junior Athletics Championship in India.

The sources in the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) have confirmed that Pakistani male and female players were set to take part in the South Asian Junior event starting from October 20, but Indian authorities refused to grant visas for the 18 male and 8 female junior athletes.

AFP president Maj Gen (R) M Akram Sahi was also leaving for India, as the federation had sent request to Indian High Commission in Islamabad for grant of visas, but the Indian High Commission refused to do so. The AFP had established long training camp at Pakistan Sports Complex and junior players were highly excited and determined to carry national flag high in the event, but now all of a sudden, the athletes’ hearts were broken just because of Indian non-sportsmanship policy.
