Islamabad-Pakistan People’s Party Senator Farhatullah Babar said yesterday that October 18 is a historic day in national calendar.

Addressing a rally organised by PPP Islamabad chapter in front of National Press Club, Senator Babar said on this day a line was drawn between bigotry and pluralism as well as between democracy and fundamentalism. This line was between militants and democrats.

He said Benazir Bhutto wanted Pakistan free of militancy.

He said that the need of the country is that media should also join hands with the democracy-loving people to get rid of militants.

Senator Babar said that there should be no classification of terrorists as good and bad.

Paying glowing tributes to Benazir Bhutto he said that the country has democracy today because of her and all those who sacrificed their lives for democracy.

This rally was also addressed by Senator Rubina Khalid, former member Punjab Assembly Nargis Faiz Malik and Nazir Dhoki, the media coordinator to the President PPP Parliamentarian Asif Ali Zardari.
