MIRPURKHAS - Hundreds of people of Mirwah Gorchani town held a demonstration in front of Mirwah Gorchani Press Club here on Tuesday to protest against long hours of loadshedding and alleged excesses by Hesco officers under the banner of Shehri Haqooq committee Mirwah Gorchani town. Led by Chairman Muhammad Ali Rajput and Muhammad Ismail Khilji, the protestors were carrying banners and placards and raising slogans against the officers of Hesco, Mirpurkhas division.  Talking to media, the protesters said that power outages of longer duration had become a routine after 10th of Muharram, as a result of which daily activities had come to a halt.

The enraged protesters blamed that Hesco Mirpurkhas division's XEN and the concerned SDO for not taking action in this regard.

They said that various electricity poles were lying on the roads unattended, while naked wires posed serious threats to the lives of people at many places in the town.

They further said that due to power blackouts, water supply to the town suffered badly as a result of which people were forced to fetch water from far-flung areas.

They blamed that Hesco officials issued inflated bills to cover up their thefts and line losses as a result of which resentment and unrest prevailed among the consumers.

They demanded the Hesco chief to take immediate notice of the matter, get loadshedding time reduced by six hours and remove all faulty electricity meters, otherwise they would be compelled to launch a campaign against the Hesco officers.
