Save 'Q' from state terrorism: Pervaiz

LAHORE - The PML-Q Punjab President and former Chief Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that the Punjab Government has resorted to horse-trading and harassing the PML-Q workers. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of large-scale arrests of political workers in Gujrat and save the PML-Q from this state terrorism. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Ch Wajahat Hussain, Ch Zaheer-ud-Din, Khalid Javaid Ghural and Mian Imran Masood were also present. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that the US recent airstrike killed 10 innocent people in Waziristan while on the instructions of Mian Shahbaz Sharif the law enforcing agencies arrested over 175 party workers in Gujrat the last night. He said that the police raided the houses of party workers and harassed their family members. He said that the police registered cases against some party workers and sealed the FIR while the others were detained without proper proceedings. He said that the recent moves show the nervousness of Sharifs who wanted to save the sinking boat of the PML-N in Punjab. He said that the administration should avoid becoming a stooge of Sharifs. He said that the DCOs and DPOs involved in horse-trading and harassing the party workers would be given exemplary punishment. He said that the PML-N government was victimising the political rivals instead of focussing on improving law and order situation and controlling atta crises. He said that the assembly members of the PML were returning to the party and all were welcomed. He said that all the members were Muslim Leaguers and they would return to the party. He said that the Sharifs have learnt nothing from the history and soon they would again flee the country. To a question regarding alliance with the PPP, he said that the party would inform the public about all its decisions. He said that every political party has its youth wing and it was the government who has given it the name of Wajahat force.
