LAHORE Approximately 80 candidates for the post of District Zakat Officer reached Examination Centre of the Punjab Public Service Commission on Saturday and having learned that the written test had been postponed, resorted to protest against the Commission. Later, the PPSC issued a press release, asserting that in view of the colossal damages caused by the unprecedented flood, it was decided by the Commission to extend the dates for the written test and interview by two weeks for the benefit of candidates from the flood-effected districts of the Punjab. Now the written test for District Zakat Officer has been rescheduled for 3rd October. This change in the date of written test was duly published in the print media and pasted on the PPSC web site and additionally individual call letters were also sent to the candidates well in time. The PPSC regrets its inconvenience caused to a small number of candidates, who could not read the above changes as advertised, added the press release.
