The Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday welcomed withdrawal of statement of the MQM chief Altaf Hussain accusing the ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan of receiving millions of dollars from the United States during general elections. Talking to media persons here in Peshawar, the ANP senior vice president Senator Hajji Adeel said that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain leveled baseless allegations on his party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan about receiving millions of dollars from US but now he has withdrawn his statement because he has no proof in this regard, adding that ANP welcomes the MQM chief's apology. He said that Altaf Hussain would have to accept that Karachi is not only the city of any caste, it is the city of all citizens, adding that all political parties together should make efforts for restoration of peace in the city setting aside all their differences. Senator Haji Adeel said that if the MQM chief wanted to end all differences with the ANP then he should seek apology form ANP on all allegations leveled by the MQM chief in the past.
