HAFIZABAD - Three-day anti-polio campaign will be started here in the district from September 19, declared Acting EDO Dr Saeed Akhtar here on Sunday. He said that 432 mobile teams had been constituted and all-out efforts would be made to ensure 100 percent vaccination of children below 5 years of age. He said that strict monitoring would be made to ensure that all children below five years (1,76,597) would administered anti-polio drops. He said that stern action would be taken against the negligent and shirker staff. He further said that no dengue case had been reported in the district so for. The acting EDO claimed that fumigation in Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian and Sukheke was nearing completion and all the citys streets would be fumigated from Monday (today). On the occasion, he asked the media play it focal role for ending the panic and terror among the public regarding dengue virus and assured that all possible arrangements had been made for tests and treatment of dengue patients. He pointed out that some people were creating harassment and terror among the public and spreading rumours about dengue outbreak whereas no such patients had so far been detected at any local hospital. DECANTING BANNED: The District Administration has banned the decanting of LPG cylinders and illegal sale of petroleum in the district. In this connection, DO-Coordination Abdul Salam Arif, Civil Defense Chief Instructor Muhammad Ijaz to monitor the illegal decanting of LPG cylinders and unlawful sale of petrol, diesel oil in the whole district. While AC Hafizabad Noman Hafeez and AC Pindi Bhattian Sh Saleem Khalid have been deputed to monitor the illegal sale and take legal action in respective jurisdiction.
