FAISALABAD - Faisalabad Electric Supply Companys (Fesco) board of directors is striving hard to extend best and qualitative services to its valued customers, said Nadeem Aftab Sindhu, chairman Fesco board of directors. Addressing the 82nd boards meeting here on Tuesday at Fesco headquarters, he said that Fesco had emerged as one of the best distribution company of Pepco and this position had been attained due to the best services rendered by its staff and officers. He said best efforts had been made for the fair and transparent distribution of electricity which helped in controlling incidents of violence and strikes due to the unscheduled loadshedding. He said that unscheduled loadshedding was also controlled and all segments were fully satisfied with the load management programme. The board directed the Chief Commercial Officer to submit a comprehensive plan to bring about qualitative improvement in load management and customer services. The board also approved the creation of new post of photographer in scale-11. it also reviewed the annual tariff petition for 2011-12, submitted by Director Finance to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra). The board also approved its fees and the purchase of 31,000 dropout/cutout with an estimated cost of Rs239 million. The board observed that replacement of damaged transformers was imperative to improve the distribution system before the next summer, for this purpose necessary material and gadgets should be purchased well in time. The board also directed to submit the details of purchase in next board meeting. The board also approved the additional budget of Rs60 million for the payment of pending bills including TA/DA, overtime, medical and training. It also approved the payment of annual distribution license fees to Nepra. It also approved to simplify the procedure for electrification of buildings and small residential schemes. The board observed that it would help in mitigating the consumers problems on top priority basis.
