KARACHI - Several suspects including a target killer who confessed to three murders, were on Sunday arrested besides, a torture cell and a dead body were found during the Surgical Operation launched to eradicate violence and target killing here. The police and Rangers conducted raids and besieged various areas for door-to-door operation and took several suspects into custody. In a major operation in P&T Colony, the Rangers nabbed several suspects. The colony is located in Gizri, Clifton where heavy contingent of Rangers including women personnel cordoned off the area and picked up several suspects. Meanwhile, the polices Special Investigation Unit claimed to have arrested an alleged target killer from Qasba Colony and recovered a body and torture cell. The suspect admitted to have killed three people, and the police found a body buried by him a couple of weeks ago. SIU Sub Inspector Rana Hanif, on a tip off, conducted the raid and arrested the culprit namely Nooruddin Imam. The arrested suspects during the course of investigation, also pinpointed hill area of Orangi where he buried a body after killing. He also confessed to have thrown body parts of another man he killed during the spell of target killing. The accused also showed a torture cell located in the basement of a house situated in Datta Nager, Baloch Goth where he took people along with other accomplices to kill while police recovered two TT pistols. It is also reported that the Rangers also taken into custody licensed and unlicensed weapons along with the suspected criminals. According to the sources, dozens of people were arrested whereas weapons were also seized from several areas. The similar operation was carried out in Zia Colony, Korangi and some areas of Maripur where Rangers also seized weapons and arrested several suspects.
