LAHORE- Kiln workers on Sunday observed a Freedom Day and thanked the CJP for his efforts in curbing exploitation of the kiln workers. They demanded that the government ensure pre-emptive measures for them from dengue. On Sunday, a ceremony at Bukhtyar Labour Hall under aegis of Bhatta Mazdoor Mahaz and Bonded Labour Liberation Front was held to show solidarity and sympathy with the kiln workers being exploited by their kiln owners since a long. The chief gusts at ceremony were Pakistan Workers Federation provincial president Osama Tariq and Chaudhry Imtiaz advocate. The founder of Bhatta Mazdoor Tehrik Ahsanullah Khan addressed the ceremony from Sweden. Osama Tariq, of Pakistan Workers Federation, said efforts would remain continued for the welfare of kiln workers from platform of the Federation and voice at government and international levels would remain also continued for eradication of bonded labour. Ghulam Rasool Shakir, Ishaq Masih, Malik Rehmat Ali, Abdul Latif, Mehboob Ali and others spoke on the occasion and they unanimously through a resolution demanded the government to allow Ahsanullah Khan to come back who, according to them, was living abroad in connection with his forced exile since last 16 years. Children of kiln workers also read out poetry.
