QUETTA - A woman and her child were wounded in a firing incident when armed men attacked Bolan Mail, in Naseerabad district, on Sunday night. According to police sources, Bolan Mail was heading towards Karachi from Quetta and was passing from Mangoli area near Dera Murad Jamali when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on it. As a result, a woman identified as Lal Khatoon and her 8-year-old child Shama Khatoon received injuries. The assailants escaped from the site after targeting the train. Police and other law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site after being informed about the incident and cordoned off the area. They moved the injured to nearby hospital for treatment. Later, Bolan Mail left for its destination amidst tight security. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack on Bolan Mail. Meanwhile, unidentified people riding a motorbike opened indiscriminate firing on a check post of Frontier Corps in Turbat. No loss of life was reported iin the attack. The attackers of the train fled from the scene when security personnel fired back in retaliation.
