ISLAMABAD - One of the greatest musicians and a classical and ghazal singer from the Patiala gharana Ustad Amanat Ali Khan remembered on his death anniversary on Tuesday. Born in 1932 in Sham Chaurasi, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Amanat Ali was a great Pakistani classical and ghazal singer, from the Patiala gharana, a private news channel reported. Soon after the independence, he moved to Pakistan. His concerts on Radio Lahore became quite popular and he toured South Asia becoming the representative of Patiala gharana in Pakistan. The late 1950s and early 1960s saw the rise of seraphic singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. The prestigious Patiala Gharana, the family that sworn to carry on the traditional and classical aura of Hindustani music, saw another immaculate and faultless singer adding more shine, prestige and prosperity to their name. Ustad Amanat Ali died when he was only 42 in Lahore in September 1974. He was honored with the 'Pride of Performance' award by the government of Pakistan.
