Berger holds fashion event

LAHORE (PR): Berger Paints Pakistan Limited organized the year’s one of the exclusive fashion nights, BERGER COLOR VOGUE and played host to renowned personalities from corporate, showbiz and fashion fraternity.

The event was marked as success since more than five hundred guests arrived at the show including top architects, interior designers, industrialists, bankers, socialites and celebrities. The main highlight of the occasion was the showcasing of latest collection by Pakistan’s famous fashion designers; Mehdi, Fahad Hussayn and Asifa & Nabeel. The event was held at a local hotel.

Cathay Pacific releases traffic figures for Aug

KARACHI (PR): Cathay Pacific Airways has released combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for August 2013 that show a healthy growth in passenger numbers and a modest increase in cargo tonnage compared to the same month last year.

Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried a total of 2,749,582 passengers in August – an increase of 5.3% compared to the same month last year. The passenger load factor was up 3.6 percentage points to 86.7%, while capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASKs), fell by 0.4%. For the year to date, the number of passengers carried has increased by 2.6% while capacity has fallen by 3.7%.

The two airlines carried 122,724 tonnes of cargo and mail last month, a 0.3% increase on August 2012. The cargo and mail load factor fell by 3.2 percentage points to 58.7%. Capacity, measured in available cargo/mail tonne kilometres, rose by 6.9% while cargo and mail revenue tonne kilometres were up by 1.4%. For the year to date, tonnage has fallen by 1.5% compared to a 0.3% capacity increase.


Training workshop

LAHORE (PR): Under the joint action plan GIZ and PTB arranged an orientation workshop in Punjab Textbook Board, Lahore. In this training workshop PTB officers and officials were trained. The topic of this training was orientation workshop on procurement, planning, management, monitoring and control. The chairman Punjab Textbook Board appreciated workshop and said that such workshops may arouse the hidden capabilities of the govt. employees to run the official matters smoothly and in an commendable way.

Chairman PTB (Nawazish Ali) said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab we supply the error free and standardized textbooks in the market in time.


Nokia Care, PKTCL introduce mobile phone insurance

KARACHI (PR): Nokia Care and Pak-Kuwait Takaful Company Limited (PKTCL) have joined hands to introduce mobile phone insurance for Nokia Customers for the first time in Pakistan. This Takaful policy focuses on accidental damage and loss of phone due to snatch on armed-hold up.

Jahanzaib Sarfaraz, Director of Global Customer Care (GCC), representing Nokia Care commented, “We are taking a step forward by considering the security conditions of the country to provide a better and more reliable mobility experience to our customers, Nokia Care continues to provide greater care to its valued customers by offering reliable mobile phone Takaful (insurance) policy.

He added this newly introduced policy is an attempt to expand on the already available spectrum of Nokia Care service and will give our customers the added sense of security to get a new mobile phone in case of accidental damage or loss.”

Moreover, Imtiaz Bhatti, Managing Director & CEO of Pak-Kuwait Takaful co Ltd, said, “We are proud to have joined hands with Nokia Care, as it is one of the most preferred mobile phone brands in Pakistan. This new agreement will help us to extend our mobile phone Takaful policy to a large number of Nokia customers in Pakistan.”

This policy can be availed by all Nokia customers via Nokia Care network from 3rd September, 2013 onwards.



Meezan awarded ‘Best Islamic Bank in Pakistan’
