LAHORE: Lahore General Hospital administration has decided to give commendatory certificates and cash prizes every month to employees showing good performance. The decision was taken at a meeting held on Wednesday with Principal PGMI and LGH Prof Anjum Habib Vohra in the chair.

LGH has been divided into four zones including Emergency, Neuro Surgery, Surgical and Phase Two for the selection of dutiful staff members. A head nurse, two nurses, a ward boy, sanitary worker, dispenser, lab technician and other employees from the ward of each zone would be chosen for prizes every month. Sanitary inspector would get special prize for maintaining high standard of cleanliness in the hospital.

Prof Vohra directed the administrative doctors and nursing administration to identify such employees who were efficiently serving the patients and were sympathetic with their attendants. He said that such staff members were precious asset for the organisation and they needed to be encouraged. He said that the department heads should recommend the names of such high performers for to be honored so that a healthy and positive sense of competition could be promoted in the hospital.

However, he warned, recommendatory authorities should avoid obliging their favorites otherwise strict action could be initiated against them. He hoped that the decision would further improve the standard of serving the patients and the LGH would earn good name.
