ISLAMABAD  - The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought reply from federation and Balochistan government in response to appeal of former president Pervez Musharraf against Balochistan High Court (BHC) order that rejected his post arrest bail plea.

An FIR No.26/2009 was registered against Pervez Musharraf under Section 302,34 of Pakistan Penal Code in respect of occurrence on August 25/25, 2006, resulted in killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti along with others.

Ibrahim Satti, Counsel for Pervez Musharraf, had challenged Balochistan High Court decision on July 30, 2013, which ruled that applicant (Pervez Musharraf) was not produced before the trial court or with the territorial jurisdiction of the trial court in Balochistan. "For the reasons, the bail application is rejected - the applicant may repeat his bail application before the trial court after shifting of his custody within the territorial jurisdiction of the trial Court, which shall decide on its own merits accordingly," the BHC order said. Satti pleaded that his client was not able to appear before the concerned court of the Balochistan due to security reasons and prayed the court to hear the instant matter. Ibrahim Satti submitted that his client was arrested and under custody in the matter, adding that he prayed the court to grant his client bail in Akbar Bugti murder case.

The bench sought reply from the federation and Balochsitan government and asked the registrar office to fix the matter in two weeks.
