LOS ANGELES: The owner of the world’s largest collection of trainers has put them up for sale on eBay - and hopes to raise £1 million.

Jordy Geller, 36, from Los Angeles, is listed in the Guinness World Records for having the largest trainer collection in the world.

He has spent 14 years amassing his collection of more than 2,500 Nike trainers - enough to open his own museum - the Shoezeum - in Las Vegas.

Mr Geller spent weeks listing almost all of his collection on the auction website, and is attracting potential buyers from all over the world.

“My first names are Jordan Michael, so it was written in the stars for me to love sneakers,” he said. “I love Nike, I always have done.

“My love of sneakers comes from my dad. He used to run marathons when I was younger and would take me to sneaker shops and teach me all about the Nikes.

“I can’t think of a reason that I would ever wear a pair of Adidas - unless I was forced to choose between Adidas and Reebok.” –WB
