ISLAMABAD: As many as 121 ghost Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) were unveiled in the federal capital during the inspection and their registration was cancelled.

Following the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Commissioner Zulfiqar Haider had constituted an inspection team

In first phase the inspection team inspected 150 NGOs receiving funds at local and foreign level of which 121 NGOs were found to be ghost and after approval of Chief Commissioner, Directorate of Registration cancelled their registration.

A total of 1427 NGOs were registered with Directorate of Registration and the Chief Commissioner, Zulfiqar Haider has given three-month deadline for their inspection.
