Rawalpindi - Three passengers were killed and 11 others sustained critical injuries when a speeding passenger bus overturned near Chakri Interchange on Motorway, informed police yesterday.

The Motorway police and ambulances of Frontier Work Organisation (FWO) moved the injured and dead passengers to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for cure and autopsy.

However, the doctors or police did not release the names of victims to media.

According to Motorway Police Spokesman Inspector Ishtiaq, a bus owned by a transport company ‘Geo Kashmir’ was en-routing to Karachi from Rawalpindi via motorway when all of sudden it overturned, killing three passengers and injuring 11 others.

He said that motorway police and FWO staffers and ambulances reached the spot and conducted rescue operation by shifting the victims to PIMS. He said the rescuers faced hardships in pulling out the victims from the wreckage of the bus.  He said the condition of the injured was stated to be critical.
