SIALKOT-As many as 65 people lost their lives in road accidents occurred in Sialkot district during the last eight months mainly due to speeding, recklessness, wrong parking and wheelies.
According to the official statistics provided by the Rescue 1122, a total of 3,960 road accidents were occurred in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils from January to August 2016 due to which 4,789 people became victims (3801 male and 988 female) of these road accidents including 688 pedestrians, 2,246 passengers, 1,855 drivers and 32 underage drivers.
Rescue 1122 said 4,285 accidents of motorcycles, 378 of cars, 527 of rickshaws,38 of buses and 334 of vans and 509 of other vehicles occurred in Sialkot district during the period.
As many as 148 victims were between the age of 1 to 10 years, 1,077 between 11 to 20 years, 1,239 between 21 to 30 years, 901 between 31 to 40, 677 between 41 to 50, 442 victims were between 51 to 60 and 305 victims were above the age of 60.
The statistics disclosed that 62 victims had the spinal injuries, 904 head injuries, 890 legs fractures and 247 had multiple fractures while a total of 2,686 victims had minor injuries.
As many as 65 people were killed in Sialkot district during the last eight months.
As many as 1,126 accidents occurred due to carelessness, 331 accidents were held due to wrong turn, 217 accidents occurred at the U-Turns, 19 fatal road accidents were occurred due to wheelies by motorcyclists in Sialkot district, 14 accidents occurred due to tyre burst and 510 accidents occurred due to other reasons in Sialkot district.
