Lahore Arts Council to pay tribute to famous singers on 22nd

LAHORE    -   The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) would pay a magnificent tribute to Madam Noor Jahan, Iqbal Bano, Farida Khanum and Nayyara Noor on September 22 at Alhamra Arts Centre. Renowned sing­ers Tarannum Naz and Sara Raza Khan would sing famous songs of the legends. According to LAC spokesperson here on Sunday, LAC Executive Director M Rafi Ullah explained his approach towards the cultural activities for the revival of the best and quality entertainment at Al­hamra. He said civilised nations always remember their national icons and pro­mote cultural activities to enhance socio-cultural values in their society. 

Rafi Ullah called this tributary night the step to remember our national icons. “Our basic aim to hold this eve­ning is to celebrate the legacy of Mad­am Noor, Iqbal Bano, Farida Khanum, and Nayyara Noor at Alhamra, he add­ed. Director and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said that the programme aims to enlighten the new generation with the services of its legends. Meanwhile, the LAC executive director on Sunday paid a surprise visit to Alhamra Art Museum and inspected attendance of the mu­seum’s staff. At the same time, he is­sued instructions to take measures to increase communication between the public and Art Museum. Speaking on this occasion, he said that Alhamra Art Museum was unique based on the work of world-famous artists. He expressed satisfaction over implementing the in­structions to keep the museum open on every Saturday and Sunday. He instruct­ed to invite a maximum number of del­egations from colleges, universities, and civil society to the museum
