LONDON (APP) Poet philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal will be honoured with the unveiling of his plaque at Stratford Upon Avon, the birth place of Englands greatest poet and playwright William Shakespeare on April 23. The occasion is the annual international festival to mark the three-day birthday celebrations of the renowned English poet from April 23 to 25 in the historic West Midlands town, which is close to the UKs second largest city, Birmingham. High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan will unveil the plaque. After unveiling of plaque cultural performances will take place. This year it will have the added colour of Pakistans diverse cultural presentation. Leading folk artistes, representing Pakistans provinces Baluchistan, Khyber Pakht-oonkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan will take part in the celebrations to entertain the visitors. International fame Dhol player Saghir Ahmad joined by Pakistans top flute player Baqar Abbas, vocalist Akhtar Chanal, singer and Ektara specialist Bushra Marvi with the legendary Alghoza player Veehomal, and the Sarinda player Ejaz Sarhadi will display their music skills. Talented renowned performers Raja Kaashef and group, Roshan Abbas and Naheed to add flavour to the festivities with their classical and traditional art, will join the visiting artistes.
