Pakistan win two bronze in Asian Youth Weightlifting

LAHORE Pakistan won two bronze medals in the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event was part of the Youth Olympic Games 2010 - Singapore, qualification round and was held recently from April 7 to 16. The two member Pakistan team consisting of Irfan Butt in 94 kg category and M Ilyas Butt coach participated in the event. Irfan, a student of first year in Government College University Lahore won two bronze medals, one in snatch event and one in total aggregate. He is now hopeful to get universality place for the forthcoming Youth Olympic Games 2010 being held from August 14 to 26 at Singapore. President Pakistan Weightlifting Federation Mian Amer Mahmood, general secretary Hafiz Imran Butt, President Punjab Muhammad Rashid Malik, Director Sports Government College University Lahore Khadim Ali Khan congratulated Irfan on winning medals at Asian Youth Olympic qualification event.
