ACTOR John Cusack has lashed out at Hollywood bosses for their continuing obsession with superheroes.

The High Fidelity star says many worthy stories are being ignored by movie bosses due to the current trend for blockbuster comic book adaptations including this year’s The Avengers.

“There’s a range of film that doesn’t get made much in Hollywood anymore,” says John, 45.

“Usually they want you to make a movie for five or six million dollars, or they want to make it for two hundred million and put on the tights and capes and stuff.

“Then there’s a middle range film, which I think is important for movies. I’d love to see this space be a little easier.”      –ES
