LAHORE – A division bench of the Lahore High Court has granted the bail to 18 accused allegedly belonged to a banned outfit Hizb-ul-Tahreer arrested by the Model Town Police.

Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court had on April 02 refused to grant bail to 18 accused.

Police had arrested 18 accused namely Faisal Rehman, Ali Nawaz, Muhammad Tanveer, Zain Bin Zubair, Ghulam Ali, Ahsan Namdar, Shehzad Ahmad, Muhammad Danial, Muhammad Shajji, Muhammad Jamal, Adeel Naeem, Sharak Naeem, Muhammad Saleem, Qamar Abbas, Jalal Farrukh, Shoaib Daud, Talha Sameeh and Zeeshan from the house of Zubair Shaif, resident of 77-C, Model Town.

The police had alleged in the case that the all accused were creating hatred in the masses against the judiciary, government and Pak-Army due to which the sedition was growing up in the country.

The 18 accused filed the bail application through their counsel Umer Hayat Sindhu and submitted that the case had been registered against him with malafide intentions and the allegations did also not based on facts. They requested the court to grant them bail.

Deputy Prosecutor General Khurram Khan and Investigation Officer Inspector Arshad opposed the petitioner’s counsel request of bail.

The LHC division recorded the arguments of both parties and granted bail to 18 accused.
