The appointment of new ministers in the Federal Cabinet was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday.

According to a private television channel, Azhar Saddique Advocate, the petitioner said that appointment of new ministers was unnecessary and burden on the economy.

The petitioner said that the people who were involved in corruption have been appointed as ministers and by doing so, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has proved himself ineligible.

He pleaded that the court should declare the appointment of new ministers invalid.

He prayed the court suspend newly appointed ministers and disqualify the prime minister.

It should be mention here that the government expended the Federal Cabinet size and appointed eleven new ministers.
