Minister says Rs19.8m earmarked for road in Chitral

PESHAWAR  - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Salim Khan has inaugurated construction work on Karmimabad Road in Chitral district to provide better communication facilities to people.
The project would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 19.8 million by the Works and Services Department KP that was launched on request of local communities. The minister, earlier, inaugurated construction works on Government
Girls High School Mordan at Garam Chashma in Chitral district that would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 16.5 million.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the provincial government despite limited financial resources has allocated a huge amount for uplift of communication, education and health sectors in budget with special focus on development of far-flung areas of the province. “It is very difficult to achieve the objectives of national development without quality communication infrastructure and education to people and that is why the present government is giving top most priority to development of these important sectors to ameliorate the socio-economic conditions of the poor,” he remarked.
The minister said PPP leadership had always focused on development of backward and remote areas and had given top priority to people’s welfare projects.
He said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed sacrificed their lives but did not compromise on rights of oppressed strata of society and the democracy.
The minister said President Asif Ali Zardari was pursuing the policies of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and ZA Bhutto Shaheed for the socio-economic emancipation of people.
He urged the party workers to inform public about achievements made by the government during the last four years. The minister said PPP popularity graph has increased manifolds in Chitral like others parts of the country due to record development works and will get thumping victory in upcoming general election.
