LAHORE - The Supreme Court of Pakistan has been requested to issue red warrant to former Pakistani ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani in order to bring him back through Interpol to record his statement before the Memogate Commission.

Petitioner Barrister Zafarullah filed a civil miscellaneous application in the Supreme Court’s Lahore registry in his earlier petition pending before the apex court.

Petitioner said that two witnesses of Memogate scandal-former ISI chief Ahmad Shuja Pasha and Mansoor Ijaz- had declared Hussain Haqqani as accused. Therefore, Haqqani had no right to record his statement via video link, while former ambassador had also assured the apex court that he would return to Pakistan on a four day notice if the commission would call him.
