The future of Pakistan is its youth, and to ensure a better future we have to invest in the coming generations by educating them. The biggest problem of our education system is rote learning and its futility in practical life. It negates the very essence of education. Education must be imparted in a language that the child understands and is able to express himself in. We talk about reforming the education sector but we don’t have thought-provoking books in our own languages. Children and youth are in a majority in Pakistan. There are hopes, dreams, and a sense of pride associated with them. The public school system needs a drastic change in curriculum. Children need counseling, guidance and eventually jobs, for which the school must prepare them.
