LAHORE - Electoral activities in 20 wards of the two zones of Cantonment Boards in the provincial capital continuing with enthusiasm as five days left in the polling for local bodies’ polls in the boards across the country.

The two zones of the boards of the provincial metropolis include Lahore Cantonment Board and Walton Cantonment Board, which carries 10 seats (wards) each board for direct elections while PML-N and PTI seems to be the main contestants with some candidates of the PPP and independents.

The electoral action took momentum after the non-party board local elections turned into party-based polls following Lahore High Court directions. The mainstream political forces supporters joined the direct political action to launch campaigns for their parties nominated candidates with setting up camps in different areas of the two boards. Decorating the streets with posters and flexes of their candidates and holding marathon meetings to grab large number of the votes to get maximum number of seats.
