KARACHI - PTI chairman Imran Khan and Reham Khan on Sunday visited leading businessman and prominent stock broker Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi for breakfast on his invitation. During the meeting various issues including the matters of fund raising for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in the Karachi came under discussion on the breakfast table.

Talking to the media after the meeting Imran Khan said that time has come for the Karachiites to decide their fate by voting their. He said that it is the sign of change that election are being held in no-go-areas, while PTI rally in MQM`s stronghold would end fear in the people of Karachi. Terming the rally a great match, PTI chairman claimed that today`s gathering would be huge and brave citizens of city will see change in Karachi. “I see new era has began in Karachi” said Imran adding that April 23 will end the politics of fear from the city.

Expressing satisfaction on the Rangers deployment, Imran said that the presence of Rangers inside and outside polling stations will make a difference. He said that transparency is expected if CCTV are installed at polling station to monitor the by-polls.

To a question about the MQM chief Altaf Hussain speech, he said that his appetite has increased after MQM chief’s long and boring speech. “It is surprising the MQM chief knows the results of NA-246 before by-polls while results are known only when matches are fixed,” said Imran. On the occasion PTI chairman announced that he would soon establish Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Karachi and Aqeel Karim has assured donation for the hospital project.

Reham arrives in Karachi to join PTI pre-election rally

Reham Khan, wife of PTI chairman Imran Khan arrived Karachi to join PTI pre-election rally. Talking to the media at the residence of prominent businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Reham Khan said that the rally held importance as the citizen of the city have to decide about their future. Lauding her husband`s political approach, she said that Imran Khan is the only leader in the country who is not afraid from any force and always stood for the betterment of the country.

To a question Reham denied official involvement in politics saying that she liked to be called Bhabi or Sister rather than first lady. “I want better education and health facilities for every Pakistani and would make practical efforts to achieve these goals,” said Reham. On the occasion Reham praised the hospitality of Aqeel Karim and thanked him for inviting them to breakfast.

Arrives in convoy of 26


As many as 3000 security personnel guarded the public gathering of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while all adjacent major roads were blocked on the occasion.

According to the details, heavy contingents of police were deployed for the security of the PTI gathering. Police force was deployed from Sohrab Goth to Liaquatabad intersection and all link roads including Kareemabad, to Mosa Colony and Hussainabad, Aisha Manzil to Azizabad and Landi Kotalm, Water Pump intersection leading to KHID and Gulberg  and Sohrab Goth.

The area cordoned off was around five Kilomiter at Shahrah-e-Pakistan while the venue of the PTI gathering was between the Aisha Manzil and Water Pump. Following the blockage of all leading roads at Shahrah-e-Pakistan heavy traffic jam was observed on other major roads.   Experts of the bomb disposal squad thoroughly examined the stage and surroundings of the main gathering.  PTI Chief Imran Khan along with other senior party leaders reached Aisha Manzil with a convoy of twenty six vehicles. As PTI Chief Imran Khan rushed closed to the stage, electricity of the whole gathering suspended for a couple of minutes as the generator malfunctioned. PTI leaders held Karachi Electric responsible of electric breakdown while spokesman K-Electric disassociated K-E from the fault. Spokesman said that PTI did not contact KE for electricity and that electricity used was not provided by KE.   Earlier, scores of PTI workers staged protest against the PTI leadership and chanting slogans against the PTI President Karachi Ali Zaidi. It was witnessed that the workers of PTI collided with police personnel deployed on the stage and also with the organisers of the gathering. Tension gripped when workers sought to reach on the stage while organisers and police personnel abstained them.
