PESHAWAR - The JUI-F has issued 2,000 tickets to its aspirant candidates for contesting Local Bodies elections being held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 30. The JUI-F nominees and workers have accelerated election campaign to win maximum seats in the much awaited Local Bodies elections. They have started door-to-door visits in groups.

The JUI-F had ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the banner of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) for about five years. Being a part of the tripartite alliances with the ANP and PPP, the JUI-F is hoping to win maximum seats in the run.

Sources in the JUI-F said the tickets have been issued strictly on merit basis, keeping in view the loyalty and past record of the candidates adding that the workers have been asked to spread party message to every nook and corner of the province.

Almost all political and religious parties have issued tickets to their candidates and a big turnout is expected this time.

During the election campaign, the JUI-F leadership has been asking the people not to vote for the PTI, as the government, according to the JUI-F, has totally failed to deliver. They categorically ask the people not to repeat the mistake they had committed in May 2013 General Elections by electing the Imran Khan-led party in the province.

Deeply rooted in the province especially in Southern districts, the JUI-F is expected to give tough times to the ruling alliance. While JUI-F’s other partners - ANP and PPP – are also trying their level best to win maximum seats in the LB polls.

The JUI-F has geared up its political activities across the province as its leaders and workers were convincing electorates in the favour of the tripartite alliance.

The process of scrutiny is underway as the first phase of submitting nomination papers has completed. Political observers say that keeping in view the prevailing situation, the opposition parties could play well in the scheduled LB polls.
