LAHORE - The Media Foundation has announced arranging a photo competition and exhibition on the theme of culture and heritage of Punjab.

At an orientation workshop for photographers at Lahore Press Club on Sunday, the organisation announced that the competition would be held in professional and amateur categories and interested persons could submit a maximum of five photographs in each category and compete for exciting awards. The top 50 photographs – 25 from each category – will form part of an exhibition that would be held in the first week of June.

The purpose of the photo competition, Azmat Abbas of The Media Foundation said, was to bring to public the culture of peace, religious tolerance and inclusivity of heritage through the lens of a camera. The photographers of Pakistani origin are eligible to participate and the photos must be their original works of cultural and heritage images captured in Punjab. The purpose of creating two categories is to ensure that professional and amateur photographers are able to compete with professionals of similar skills. The organization invited photographers to submit their works in digital format of 300dpi or above by May 25, 2015.
