Karachi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) today put its weight behind Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate, Imran Ismail for the by-election of NA-246, Karachi.

“We announce our decision to support Imran Ismail in the by-election” Owais Noorani told journalists in Karachi. He called upon voters of NA-246 to come out of their homes on April 23 and vote for the PTI. “We won’t allow anyone to shed blood of people in the name of ethnicity,” he said.

Noorani termed the 2013 elections as the worst in the history of Pakistan.
