SWABI - The PML-N and QWP have announced that their electoral alliance for May 30 Local Bodies elections would remain intact, though they are confronting difficulties in some union councils.
Both parties had entered into an electoral alliance seven days back and soon after they started facing difficulties in some key union councils, but district leadership of the two parties vowed to keep the alliance intact. The district election committee included PML-N district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan and general secretary Dildar Khan while QWP district chairman Massod Jabbar and central leader Muhammad Jamil Advocate and some other leaders. Leaders of both sides are of the view that they facing difficulties in accommodating each others’ demands, but they vowed to sail together and said their alliance would not end at any cost.
"We have political understanding and diplomatic skills to handle such issues," they said, adding they should concentrate on the election campaign. "We’ll inflict a defeat on the tripartite alliance candidates and ruling parties' coalition in the district," they claimed. Meanwhile, seven journalists have filed their nomination papers from different union councils and announced to contest the upcoming Local Bodies' elections.
