Wah Cantt - Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior, Senator Talha Mahmood has taken strong notice of non-maintenance of five bridges on 43 kilometres long Taxila-Khanpur-Haripur Highway and urged chairman National Highway Authority to take necessary action.

He was talking to newspersons here on Sunday after examining the progress of ongoing maintenance and improvement project of Taxila- Khanpur Road.

Taking serious notice of slow pace of the work, he said that slow work is causing immense problems for the locals of the area and especially for those who are travelling on inter-provincial road which connects Punjab with Hazara division.

He said that he voiced this issue in recent session of Senate and Federal Minister Sheikh Aftab has assured him that the matter would be brought into the notice of chairman NHA.
