PPP’s Chan joins PTI

ISLAMABAD - Senior leader of Pakistan People's Party and former MNA Nadeem Afzal Chan Thursday joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf but he will make a formal announcement on April 25 in his native village in district Mandi Bahauddin.

Nadeem, who also remained PPP's secretary general of Punjab, will make announcement of joining the PTI during the visit of Chairman PTI Imran Khan at his village Makku on April 25.

Nadeem announced his decision of joining the PTI during his meeting with Chairman PTI Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala. Some PPP leaders took to the Twitter to criticise Nadeem for joining the PTI. While former PPP MNA Noor Alam Khan who has already joined the PTI hailed the decision of Nadeem through Twitter and said: “Once again we brothers are again together.”

An official statement issued by the PTI said that Nadeem Afzal Chan invited Imran Khan to visit his residence on April 25 at village Makku and that was accepted by the party chief.

PTI sources confirmed that Nadeem Afzal will formally announce to join the party during Imran Khan's visit to his native village. 

Nadeem during the meeting appreciated efforts of PTI chief to end the menace of corruption.

In the meeting, Vice -Chairman PTI Shah Mahmood Qureshi, former secretary general PTI Jehangir Khan Tareen were also present. Besides these, former member of Punjab Assembly and father of Nadeem, Afzal Chan and uncle of Nadeem and former federal minister Nazar Mohammad Gondal were also present on the occasion.

Some months back, Nadeem Afzal Chan had resigned as PPP's secretary general of Punjab soon after his brother Waseem Afzal Chan had joined the PTI while quitting the PPP. Waseem is also former member of the Punjab Assembly.
