The cases, traced by the investigators of Rawalpindi Police under command of CPO Omer Saeed Malik included 5 blind murder cases; 1 dacoity-cum-murder; 1 kidnapping-cum-murder and a dacoity case.
Similarly, the timely response of the police force had also thwarted an attempt of robbery of Rs 700 million, said SSP Operations Wasim Riaz at a presser in Police Line on Tuesday. He was also flanked by SP Potohar Division Rana Abdul Wahab, SP Kohsar Haider, SP CIA Tariq Mehmood and Trainee ASP Ms Zainab.
Addressing the media, SSP Operations Wasim Riaz said that the police had resolved and held two suspected killers of transgender Nadim alias Bunty murder case that took place in Saddar Wah. The accused killed the eunuch over a monetary issue, he said. Similarly, Naseerabad police also held a dacoit who shot dead a shopkeeper during a dacoity bid over resistance. “The investigators of Cantt police stations also held a gang of five dacoits who attempted to snatch Rs 700 million from a security company,” he said.
SSP was of the view that the Homicide Investigation Unit of Morgan Police Station has also resolved another blind murder case of an owner of a private hotel by arresting his second wife and two of her crime partners. The troika killed Muhammad Farooq and torched his body in a car to grab his property.
In yet another big development, the investigators of Kallar Syedan Police managed to apprehend a couple—Asad Saghir and Somia—on charges of murdering police constable Moheen Asif.
Jatli Police also resolved another blind murder case of Olympian Muhammad Mustafa by nabbing his killer Khalid Mehmood. The killer was the uncle of the deceased, he said.
Kotli Sattian police rounded up Izhar Hussain for killing Allah Yar and put him behind the bars, said SSP Operations Wasim Riaz.
He said the police have also launched a massive crackdown against the auto theft gangs and held a total of 983 accused. Police also seized 42 cars, 142 motorcycles, 11 other vehicles and booty worth more than Rs 80 million from their possession.
Separate cases have also been registered against them, said Wasim Riaz. In the end, CPO Omer Saeed Malik handed over the keys of recovered vehicles and motorcycles to the rightful owners in a ceremony.
