LAHORE The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said on Thursday that its previously-announced training camp in Holland was actually a series. Sources say that the PHF had organised the training camp in Holland but since the team is preparing for Commonwealth Games to be held in India, the camp made no sense in Europe. An official of the PHF said that the team would play a couple of matches in Holland and in between the games, they would practice on different conditions. He said that training on hilly region made the players physically fit and that was the reason the camp was arranged at Abbottabad. The Pakistan team is training at Abbottabad these days. The camp started there without the chief coach who will join the team in Holland. An interesting thing to note is that the team is preparing for the Commonwealth Games which are to be held in New Delhi and the conditions there are similar to those in Pakistan. However, the PHF is under immense pressure to deliver after the teams worst-ever performance in the World Cup.
