MULTAN - The district police have evolved a comprehensive security plan to avert any untoward incident on Eidul Fitr and night before Eid, declared CPO Multan Amir Zulfiqar Khan. Addressing a high level meeting of police officers, he directed all SHOs to ensure strict control on aerial firing and launch crackdown on those riding motorbikes without number plates or showing stunts like wheelies. He issued orders for on-spot arrest of those teasing women and families.

He said that pickets were set up at all entry and exit points of the city to keep eye on suspicious elements. He added that cops were deployed at all important places for the security of Eid congregations.

 He said that walkthrough gates would be installed at the entry points of all such masjids and imambargahs that were declared sensitive. He said that the citizens would be permitted entry after their checking with metal detector.

Meanwhile, the Eid holidays of sanitation staff of Wasa as well as emergency staff of the government hospitals have been cancelled.

The Wasa staffers will remain on duty during three days of Eid and keep the city clean. Similarly, the administrations of Nishtar, Children Complex and Civil hospitals also cancelled the holidays of emergency staff while the consultants of all wards are asked to stay on call. Similarly, the Punjab government has directed heads of all hospitals not to leave their respective stations so that the healthcare dispensation could be run effectively in case of any emergency.
