Tight security ordered for 3,000 Eid congregations




RAWALPINDI  – Rawalpindi is all set to hold 3,000 Eid prayers’ congregations on Eidul Fitr.
The local police and district administration has ensured implementation of foolproof arrangements for all Eidgahs staging the prayers, while leaves of all police officials have been cancelled. Extra police contingents from reserves, Punjab constabulary, and special branch have been summoned for security purposes, while close-circuit cameras have been installed in mosques, Eidgahs and traffic signals.
Meanwhile,  Islamabad Police have organised a special security plan on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
Security cameras have been installed in all big malls of the city and police help lines have also been established. According to officials of Islamabad Police, the security plan has been constituted after the interior ministry asked the law-enforcing agencies to remain on high alert.
More than 2000 police personnel will be on duty at different sensitive places of the city. Walk-through gates will also be installed at entrance of mosques and venues of Eid congregations. The security of all important buildings, and that of Red Zone, Prime Minister House and Presidency will be intensified.
